The ubiquitous Armadillo. A permanent
piece of Texas animal life, often found alongside a road in a dead condition.
A Pekin duck. I had two of these (male
and female) as the first of many pet ducks.
A green Anole. Another ubiquitous
creature for this area. They turn brown if they sit on something brown. These also tame
easily and make great pets. You just have to catch one first!
This strange-looking creature is a
Nutria. It's a rodent that can swim, much like a beaver. But it's not a beaver. They look
like oversized rats! This one was quite young yet, and about 10 inches long, not including
its tail. The adults are much larger.
I'm not sure what kind of lizard this
is. It was a really pretty green color!
I turned over a watering trough and
found this little toad hiding underneath!
Hey, a cow DOES count as nature
photography!
EEEEK! Another spider! This one is a
funnel-web.
This tree lizard fell out of our stove
exhuast vent onto the kitchen cabinet!
Road Trip! I found this garter snake
one day while mowing the lawn!
