DSCN1755.JPG (670395 bytes) The ubiquitous Armadillo. A permanent piece of Texas animal life, often found alongside a road in a dead condition.

DSCN2195.JPG (650506 bytes) EEK! A spider.

DSCN2202.JPG (347444 bytes) A Pekin duck. I had two of these (male and female) as the first of many pet ducks.

DSCN2854.JPG (653576 bytes) A green Anole. Another ubiquitous creature for this area. They turn brown if they sit on something brown. These also tame easily and make great pets. You just have to catch one first!

DSCN2973.JPG (759158 bytes) This strange-looking creature is a Nutria. It's a rodent that can swim, much like a beaver. But it's not a beaver. They look like oversized rats! This one was quite young yet, and about 10 inches long, not including its tail. The adults are much larger.

DSCN3128.JPG (1175195 bytes) I'm not sure what kind of lizard this is. It was a really pretty green color!

DSCN3675.JPG (1229472 bytes) I turned over a watering trough and found this little toad hiding underneath!

DSCN4405.JPG (1260345 bytes) Hey, a cow DOES count as nature photography!

DSCN4418.JPG (1278263 bytes) EEEEK! Another spider! This one is a funnel-web.

DSCN5547.JPG (1150318 bytes) This tree lizard fell out of our stove exhuast vent onto the kitchen cabinet!

DSCN5549.JPG (1190457 bytes) Road Trip! I found this garter snake one day while mowing the lawn!
