Welcome to my book page!
I like most kinds of books, including
biographies, Christian fiction (some of it anyway), Some classics, such as Heidi, and I
especially love true stories!
Here is a list of my favorite books, divided by their categories.
True
Christian Stories
The Bible
Corrie ten Boom
Joni Eareckson Tada
True Stories that are
not always Christian, but are still pretty good
Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House on
the Prairie series)
Peter Jenkins' books
Anne of Green Gables
Space Travel (true
stories)
First on the Moon, by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.
Carrying the Fire, by Michael Collins.
A Man on the Moon, by Andrew Chaikin
Moon Shot, by Alan Shepard and Deke Slayton
Weather
The Weather Book, by Jack Williams (Excellent for someone who is starting out studying
weather. It's not complicated, but it is not "young" either.)
The Tornado, by John Edward Weems. (An account of the May 11th, 1953 tornado in Waco, TX.
I don't recommend this for children, because the portrayal of being in the tornado is very
detailed and could be upsetting for a child.)
In the Shadow of the Tornado. (Again, this book is quite interesting from a meteorologists
point of view, but the personal stories could be upsetting. There is a lot of
"technical" info in it, which is very informative as to how tornadoes are
formed, etc, and the personal stories can easily be skipped.)
Storm Chaser - In Pursuit of Untamed Skies, by Warren Faidley. Mr. Faidley is a
professional photographer who chases storms to photgraph! This book is full of incredible
pictures and some of the authors personal "storm" stories. You have to watch out
for a few mentions of things that are not exactly clean, but otherwise this book is very
good!
Child Discipline (yes, for someone who does not have children, this sounds
strange, but I HAVE found a couple of excellent, biblical child-rearing books that
everyone should read, and even your children should read them, in preparation for
parenthood :-)

Withold Not Correction, by Bruce Ray. The BEST child -rearing book I ever read...Mr. Ray
is a pastor and father. I highly recommend this book to every parent!
Standing On The Promises - A Handbook of Biblical Child-Rearing, by Douglas Wilson. This
is another wonderful book on discipline, again, based on biblical principles.
More books can be found here: The Courtship Page
Creation vs. evolution
The Evolution of a Creationist, by Jobe Martin (If you've never read this book, GET IT and read it, whether you believe in Biblical creation, or evolution.)
In The Beginning: Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood, by Walt Brown (another excellent source of information.)
